Next year marks the 11th year of ReelWorld Film Festival. Over the past years ReelWorld has managed to screen hundreds of Canadian and international films that reflect positive and inspiring images from the Aboriginal, Asian, Black, Latino, Middle Eastern, South Asian and other multi-racial communities. Over five days the festival delivers Screenings, Industry Panels, Awards, Galas, Youth Programs and so much more. ReelWorld screens Features, Shorts, Documentaries, Animation and Music Videos.
Our Vision: ReelWorld Film Festival’s vision is the creation of a Canadian film industry that recognizes and embraces racial and culturally diverse filmmakers who produce internationally competitive film, videos and new media.
Our Mission: As Canada’s premiere not-for-profit film festival, ReelWorld aims to celebrate achievement and excellence in film and video by showcasing and promoting the work of filmmakers of diversity, both Canadian and international, and to provide year-round skills and professional development training and networking opportunities for working and aspiring filmmakers.
Our Mandate: ReelWorld Film Festival is changing the face of Canadian film and video behind the scenes and on the screens, by implementing the following objectives: - To showcase and promote the work of diverse film and video makers and film artists to Canadian and international audiences.
- To facilitate a forum where film and video makers and other film artists can interact and pitch their ideas to producers and investors.
- To bring together film artists from diverse Canadian communities to network, dialogue, share, critique, and support each other’s work and relevant works from the international community.
- To provide training through seminars, workshops, and special events aimed at the racially and culturally diverse Canadian film and video making community.
