Plantonic is a delightful play on words that uses cinematic metaphor to play with the structure of the common love story in an innovative and original way. As we watch two men search for resolution and connection after their love ends, Krit Komkrichwarakool uses wonderfully whimsical scoring, saturated colours, and rich textures reminiscent of Call Me by Your Name to invite the viewer into this incredibly touching tale of unrequited love.
In his thought-provoking film, Komkrichwarakool asks us to redefine what love looks like between two people, not only through means of a queer lens, but a human one.
Krit Komkrichwarakool earned a degree in Communication Design and then moved to Canada to pursue a career in film. Integrating his knowledge of design with filmmaking, Komkrichwarakool brings a unique perspective to his storytelling. His short Freefall has won awards in film festivals including Best Director and Best Short Film.
