PROGRAMMERS NOTES

In Juanita Peter’s 8:37 REBIRTH, we explore what happens when your past meets your present. Jared and Sergei shared a moment that changed the trajectory of both of their lives. Despite coming from different backgrounds and circumstances, both are now bound by this tragic incident. Twenty years later, when Jared is released from prison, Sergei cannot help but fear Jared’s newly found freedom. Sergei worries turn into dark obsessions driven by revenge. We see Jarod as a changed man after his release from prison, however, Sergei cannot forgive him for the damage he has caused. Peter’s film explores what happens when hate and revenge take over your mind and what it can make someone do.
