Carlos Soriano is a filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist born in the Dominican Republic and a refugee in Canada since 2013. He attended the Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV in Cuba and L’inis in Montreal. His artistic approach is uniquely related to his queer identity, to the Caribbean, its culture and politics and its decolonization, and his migratory journey. He uses cinema, literature, performance and poetry to tell personal and emotional stories about marginality, uprooting and solitude.
