Motivation

When I make work I try my best to remember the feeling of taking in stories as a child. I try to remember what was convincing about the fantasy worlds I believed in and what made the characters feel so real and bring that familiar earnestness to my work.

Work

No there isn’t a theme. I tend to focus on small moments and people interacting with one another.

Success

My current Director Riccardo Durante has impacted my career a great deal. He’s been teaching to push for what’s possible and never compromise on crucial story points. He’s a genius and is so generous with his knowledge.

Impact

There’s a bit of a myth about how teams come together in general but I was lucky enough to have a few artists I’ve always wanted to work with take a chance and join me in the projects I’m currently working on. It’s timing, the project and the personalities that build a strong team and the only part I had anything to do with was the project I presented to them.

Collaboration

Have I made it?

Challenges

Every time I have to sacrifice a great idea to meet a schedule deadline.

I tend to focus on small moments and people interacting with one another.

When a collaborator adds to your idea in a way that amplifies it- An Animator adding a flourish to accent a line read, A BG artist adding a character specific detail in the background. It makes the world you’re building come alive because it’s being built by a community not a single mind.

Experience

Advice

Know what you’re making. Know what you want it to look, feel, sound like and then be open to people adding to your ideas .
