A message from our Founder and Executive Director, Tonya Williams

Celebrating its 23rd year, Reelworld is Canada’s longest running film festival and institute committed to advancing opportunities for Black, Indigenous, Asian, South Asian, and People of Colour in  the Canadian screen industries by reducing barriers and fostering authentic stories. We are excited to announce that we have expanded the film festival to include a summit.

The Reelworld Film Festival + Summit will feature seven days of screenings, keynote speeches, industry discussions, fireside chats, pitch opportunities, awards presentations, breakfast/ luncheon networking, all to  enhance the experience for our attendees, providing an opportunity for Canadian creatives, professionals and government leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue about the state of our industry today.

Our festival this year runs from November 1st-7th, we will continue with an online format along with in-person screenings  and industry events. All films will be available to stream on a secure online portal available via web browser and Roku TV.

This year the Reelworld Film Festival + Summit will be showcasing its films at The Royal Theatre (608 College St, Toronto, ON M6G 1B4) and at The Paradise Theatre (1006c Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6H 1M2).
