Lucius Dechausay is a Scarborough-born director, producer, and editor committed to telling emotionally complex stories with hunger and authenticity. His vibrant work—ranging from the provocative policing doc KETTLE, to the infectious dance series The MOVE to the Afrofuturistic 21 Black Futures—has garnered critical acclaim, numerous awards and millions of views globally. As an Executive in Charge of Production at CBC Docs, he currently oversees Short Docs and For The Culture with Amanda Parris.
Each year the Reelworld Trailblazer Awards recognize six racially diverse industry professionals who are inspiring others and blazing their own trail in the Canadian media and entertainment industry through groundbreaking and innovative work. Past recipients include Elle-Maija Tailfeathers, Simu Liu, Fawzia Mirza, Anthony Q Farrell and Kelly Fyffe-Marshall.
