DAN LYON - Regional Feature Film Executive for Ontario and Nunavut
Prior to joining Telefilm, Dan worked primarily as a film distributor (executive vice-president of the Astral Entertainment Group & its successor companies), executive producer, and entertainment lawyer. His primary focus at Telefilm is the development, production and marketing of lower-budget feature films, and building new talent.
Lenin M. Sivam was born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka and raised in Toronto, Canada.
He is widely acclaimed for “revolutionizing Tamil cinema” through his offbeat, realistic and
powerful depiction of the Tamil Diaspora. Sivam first achieved international recognition with his feature film debut “1999” in 2009, which was received with critical acclaim, winning several film awards both in Canada and around the world. Sivam’s success continued with his next film, A GUN & A RING (2013), which was well received both critically and commercially and made its world premiere at the Shanghai International Film Festival in June 2013, where it was shortlisted for the coveted Golden Goblet Award.
Warren Sinnathamby is a multifaceted entrepreneur, well-known in the business community in Canada. He heads the hugely successful land development company, 7S Group, and has created numerous vibrant communities. With the launch of Next Productions, he forayed into the realm of media. His aim is to bring forth meaningful cinema while promoting artistic talent.
