PROGRAMMERS NOTES

On route to Jeju island in South Korea, The MV Sewol began sinking on April 16, 2014. 304 people died, most of which were students from Danwon High School on their way for a class trip. Following the sinking it became clear that conflicting instructions were given to passengers on the ship as lead crew members began evacuating. Director MIn Bae captures this tragedy which gripped the country as citizens emboldened by communal grief began to demand an investigation of the crew members which leads all the way up to administration in place of President Park Geun-hye. Following a parent of a deceased student, Bae examines the father's quest for truth against the backdrop of citizens questioning their role in modern day South Korea
