Synopsis
When Daniel gets caught stealing food, the store manager calls his uncle Bernie to come get him. Bernie brings Daniel over for a home-cooked meal, where Daniel learns that his uncle danced traditionally. Inspired, Daniel learns how to grass dance and in the process discovers his family's history.
About the Director
Jordan Wanakamik is an Anishinaabe, Cree and Vietnamese filmmaker and photographer based in Toronto. Jordan was selected for the LIFT and imagineNATIVE mentorship program, and wrote and directed a short film named Burned, which premiered at the 2023 imagineNATIVE Film Festival. Jordan is currently the Program Facilitator at POV Film.
