Join us on May 1, 2026, at Innis Town Hall for our annual Asian Heritage Month screening. As we celebrate 16 years of partnership with Asian Heritage Month, we've curated a special screening event titled No Man's Land, which explores complex family ties.

 

The evening will include the screening of the feature film Shook, directed by Amar Wala, and the short film Desync, directed by Minerva Navasca, which screened at the 2023 Reelworld Film Festival. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the screening begins at 7 PM.

Zaarin Bushra is a Toronto-based actor, filmmaker, and creative professional. She is the Program Manager at Reelworld Screen Institute, where she oversees the Emerging 20 Program and initiatives focused on the development of emerging creatives. Her work focuses on building pathways for racialized talent in Canada’s screen industries, fostering community, and advancing equity through storytelling and industry collaboration.
