After immigrating to Canada, Ming becomes a stay-at-home father while his career-driven wife, Fei, continues to pursue her dream as a First Officer in China. Struggling with the societal pressure as an unemployed man and a growing sense of inadequacy in his family, Ming one day sees a lost flamingo named José. He decides to rescue the bird.

About the Director
Athena Han is a Taiwanese-Canadian writer-director and SFU Film Production graduate whose work explores family, cultural clashes and identity. Her films have screened at festivals across Canada, Taiwan and the United States, earning the A&E Short Filmmaker Award and Shaw Media Fearless Female Director Award. Her latest short, Sitting Bird, was selected for Telefilm's Not Short on Talent showcase at Cannes in 2025. She is currently developing her first feature film.
