A tradition in Asian cultures when a newborn baby turns 100 days old, family and friends celebrate over a banquet style dinner welcoming the baby into the world. An unexpected guest arrives and a bowl of red bean dessert soup causes tensions to boil over in this modern day family dramedy.
Director Bio:
Derek Kwan is a Chinese-Canadian filmmaker based in Vancouver, BC. Naturally gravitating towards stories surrounding food and culture, he strives to bring narratives to screen through flavors audiences have yet to experience. Derek was a 2021 Reelworld E20, Netflix-Banff Diversity of Voices 2022, and part of the Bell Media / BIPOC TV & Film Unscripted Producers Lab 2023.
