Inner City Films

"Alfons Adetuyi is an award-winning Nigerian-Canadian director, producer and writer, and founder of Inner City Films (ICF), a Toronto-based production company specializing in international and intra-provincial co-productions and co-ventures for film and television. With more than three decades of experience, Adetuyi has worked across both the creative and business sides of production, building projects and partnerships that connect Canadian filmmakers with international talent, financing and production opportunities. ICF’s productions have been sold and distributed in more than 60 countries. Adetuyi played a key role in establishing the Canada–South Africa Co-Production Treaty, producing Ekhaya (also known as Molo Fish in South Africa), the first production completed under the agreement, followed by Jozi H, a medical drama series, and Love Jacked, a romantic comedy feature released worldwide on Netflix and now available on demand. His international work has also extended to Canada–India industry initiatives and exploratory discussions around a potential Canada–Nigeria Co-Production Treaty. As a director, Adetuyi brings a strong focus on performance, cultural collaboration, music, atmosphere and creating space for actors and emerging talent to contribute to the creative process. His directing credits include Love Jacked, High Chicago, Holiday Heritage, Miracle in Motor City and A Second Chance at Love. He is currently completing Dreams of the Moon, a coming-of-age feature inspired by the 1971 Apollo 16 astronaut training mission in Sudbury, Ontario, for release in 2027. A recipient of Reelworld’s Vision Award, Adetuyi continues to combine creative leadership with international production expertise, bringing a practical understanding of how creative vision, cultural relationships, financing, deal-making and production realities intersect when working across borders.
