Sally Karam is an award-winning producer and development executive with more than 20 years of experience across film and television. As VP of Development at Frantic Films, she leads the company’s scripted and unscripted development slate, with current productions for CBC and Crave and projects in development with CBC and Disney. Previously, as VP of Production at Vortex Media, she oversaw a slate of independent features and television movies for Hallmark, Lifetime, UPtv and W Network. Her producing career spans independent features, including the TIFF-selected The End of Sex and award-winning films Honey Bee and What We Have, more than a dozen television movies and series, including the acclaimed, multi-award-winning Baroness Von Sketch Show and Kal Penn Approves This Message for Hulu. Her extensive documentary and factual television experience includes producing and executive producing series for Discovery, A&E and Nat Geo, and most recently, developed and produced the documentary Breaking Idol for CBC’s The Passionate Eye. Her work has earned Canadian Screen Award nominations and recognition from TIFF, Whistler Film Festival and Inside Out, along with awards at festivals in Canada and internationally.
