Each year ReelWorld gives out prestigious accolades, selected by a jury of industry leaders. In addition to the awards decided by a jury, all feature films and feature documentaries that are programmed are eligible for the ReelWorld Audience Choice Award, and all programmed music videos are eligible for the ReelWorld Music Video Audience Choice Award.
ReelWorld is committed to nurturing and celebrating talented artists and investing in their future. We recognize individuals within the industry who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to their craft with awards that acknowledge their achievements. We are pleased to present these awards on the last day of the festival at our annual ReelWorld Awards Ceremony.
Each year we are proud to present to following awards:
Tonya Lee Williams Award for Outstanding Canadian Feature
An award that recognizes the most masterful Canadian feature film of the Festival; the Tonya Lee Williams Award is presented by TD Canada Trust to a Canadian director-producer team.
ReelWorld Award for Outstanding International Feature
An award that recognizes the most compelling International feature film of the Festival.
ReelWorld Award for Outstanding Canadian Documentary
The winner of the Outstanding Canadian Documentary has crafted a sophisticated documentary that broadens our horizons.
ReelWorld Award for Outstanding International Documentary
An award that distinguishes an international filmmaker who has created an exceptional documentary.
ReelWorld Award for Outstanding Canadian Short Film
This award, presented by Kodak Canada, goes to the best Canadian short film screened at the Festival, as selected by the Jury.
ReelWorld Award for Outstanding International Short Film
This award goes to the best International short film screened at the Festival, as selected by the Jury.
ReelChoice Audience Award
The ReelWorld audience selects their favourite feature film or feature documentary.
ReelChoice Award for Outstanding Music Video
The ReelWorld audience selects their favourite from a field of 25 creative all-Canadian music videos.
