About the Program
Building a more inclusive and sustainable screen industry.
The Access Reelworld Wage Subsidy Program supports the hiring of mid-career professionals who identify as Black, Indigenous or as Persons of Colour. The program provides wage subsidies to established Canadian production companies with wage subsidies to cover six-month paid, full-time positions. These placements are designed to offer meaningful industry experience, mentorship, and skill development.
For Production Companies
Must be a CMPA member in-good-standing
Operate from a physical office in Canada
Currently employ the equivalent of at least five (5) full-time staff
Have an active project in production
For Mid-Career Professionals
Are you an Indigenous, Black or racialized professional looking to grow in your career in media production?
This program offers a transformative opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a reputable production company. You’ll receive mentorship, build relationships, and gain experience that will help advance your long-term goals in the screen industry.
NOTE: This program is not intended for those developing their own creative projects. It is for professionals who are interested in working within and contributing to a production company’s growth and success.
Eligibility Criteria:
Identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Colour
Mid-career with demonstrable experience in the screen/media industry
Interest in producing or working within a production company
Able to work in-person, full-time for 6 months
