Julie

The Executive Director and CEO of Telefilm Canada since April 2023, Julie Roy has nearly 30 years of experience in the film industry. She previously worked at the NFB, where she held the positions of Director General of Programming, Creation, Distribution and Marketing, and Head of Programming; Director General of Creation and Innovation; and producer and executive producer for the French Animation Studio. Her more than 50 production credits include: two Michèle Lemieux films, The Painting (2024) and Here and the Great Elsewhere (2012); The Tesla World Light by Matthew Rankin (2017 Cannes Critics’ Week selection); The Subject by Patrick Bouchard (2018 Cannes Directors’ Fortnight selection); and Bad Seeds by Claude Cloutier (2020).
