Hot Docs co-presentation 

Reelworld is excited to co-present Wilfred Buck from director Lisa Jackson at the 2024 Hot Docs Film Festival. This hybrid, time-travelling road trip takes us into the harrowing life of charismatic Cree elder, star expert, and ceremonial leader Wilfred Buck. Screenings are on April 26 at 8 pm and April 27 at 2:15 pm. Get your tickets here

With Love and a Major Organ release 

The 2024 Reelworld Film Festival's opening night film, With Love and a Major Organ, is opening across Canada on April 12. If you missed it at the festival, catch it this month at the Carlton Cinema in Toronto and the VIFF Centre in Vancouver! Details here.

Heritage Minutes request for proposal:

Heritage Minutes is inviting production companies to submit a treatment on Jewish Canadian history. If you wish to submit a proposal, please visit their website to see the list of requirements and budget. The deadline is April 28, 2024, at 5 pm ET.

The Canadian Academy accepting applicants for the Executive Residency Program

This eight-month national program is designed to support members of underrepresented communities. The program matches high-level Advocates (such as VPs, Executive Producers, Development/Production Executives) with emerging leaders, providing insight into how creative and business decisions are made on an executive level. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their creative, business, and leadership skills, and make meaningful connections in the industry. For more information and to apply, click here

Living Room Sessions (A Free Film Showcase):

Full Haus Productions hosts a monthly free film showcase called Living Room Sessions, where local filmmakers can share finished or unfinished work and receive feedback from their peers. It is a casual event for filmmakers and film lovers to discuss projects and create community. It is free to submit and free to attend! If you'd like to submit a film, you can click here. The deadline is April 14. This month, the event will be held April 25, 7:30 pm-10:30 pm at The Sidekick (1374 Queen Street East).
