Canada Has Never Had More Reason To Believe In Its Own Talent

Reelworld's Report on Building a Star System for English Canada: Phase 1 Findings and Strategic Framework

examines what Canada needs to better recognize, develop, and sustain its screen talent.

A strong star system helps turn outstanding performances and breakthrough moments into lasting careers, building audiences for Canadian talent and strengthening the visibility of Canadian film and television at home and internationally. For Black, Indigenous, Asian, South Asian, and other racialized performers, gaps in representation, publicity, marketing, career management, and international connections can make that momentum especially difficult to sustain.

Drawing on industry research, interviews, and international models, Reelworld has developed a report and ecosystem map identifying how Canada's current star-making infrastructure works, where the gaps lie, and opportunities to strengthen it.

The findings and recommendations will be presented at the Reelworld Summit, offering a roadmap to a stronger, more connected ecosystem for Canadian stars
